I first started playing golf in 1969. I loved the game from the beginning and continued to play whenever I could. After I moved to Tennessee in 1980, I began playing golf seriously. I wanted to learn as much about the golf swing as I could, so I took lessons from 10 different teaching pros over the next 14 years.

I read every golf instructional book and magazine I could get my hands on from 1980 until now, over 900 magazines and over 300 books and videos. This got me started in building golf clubs and learning to repair them. I took all of the available golf club fitting and repair instruction and training available. This led to a "Master Craftsman" classification.

My education and career have been focused on Mechanical Engineering, and this helped me to understand the dynamics and performance of the golf swing and golf club. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, Indiana and hold a Professional Engineer Certificate from the State of Indiana.

My engineering assignment led to relocation, this time to Torreon, Mexico in January 1998 where I directed a plant startup.  This was important to the 5 Year Plan as I could practice year round in the warm weather and work with 2 more teaching Pros. While in Mexico I played dozens of amateur tournaments.

In October 2000 I retired from my engineering business and began full time golfing!

In January 2001 I moved to Gainesville, FL because of the weather and proximity to several of the golf mini tours. I studied under 3 additional teaching pros and played many mini tour events. It did not take long for me to see how the overwhelming majority of golfers both pros and amateurs struggled with getting the right equipment and the proper fit for their swing. This drove me to expand my knowledge in club fitting, club design and club building, and I unofficially began Precision Golf Solutions and started doing work for fellow pros and playing companions.

In 2004 I officially opened up Precision Golf Solutions, setting up a facility and purchasing all of the equipment to do custom fitting of clubs and repairs. I earned the following awards my first year in business:

Today, my main focus has shifted to helping golfers play their best game by fitting them and building "Precision Fitting" golf clubs to match their swing.  It seems so obvious to me…everyone has their own unique swing, so why not build clubs that fit that person and their swing.  Optimum performance comes from precision fit equipment.  Beware, I still occasionally play a tournament now and then as well.
